Find Out if Your Kingsport, TN Home Needs Foundation Repair ...

KINGSPORT, TENNESSEE ? One of the most critical steps of the home buying process is the inspection. Whether you?re buying or selling, a good home inspection by a reputable inspector can give you an overall condition of the property from roof to foundation.

Passing on having a home professionally inspected is not a wise financial decision. Buying a home is one of the biggest investments you will make, so it is important to know the details behind the investment and whether you need to put any additional funds into the home once it?s yours. Even if the home is your dream home, not knowing that it will need every interior door replaced can cost you down the road.

When you buy a home, it?s important to remember you are buying all the home?s problems, too. Even short sale properties that are sold in ?as is? condition should undergo an inspection. These properties have been neglected, so by having an inspection you will be able to assess the total cost of the home, including problems that need to be fixed.

If you are the seller, having an inspection done before you put your home on the market will help you avoid any surprises when potential buyers have the home inspected. After the inspection, you will be able to make repairs, use your own contractor and satisfy potential homebuyers by disclosing repairs that are needed or recently fixed. This will also protect you from liability of nondisclosure claims.

A home inspection is an independent property review by a licensed home inspector whom the potential homebuyers hire to give them a written, unbiased, property condition report.

Rumour ? 2012 launch planned for new Apple game console | VG247

Mon, Apr 16, 2012 | 23:13 BST

According to a report by a ?Kinect-like video game console? was the reason for Apple CEO Tim Cook?s visit to Valve?s headquarters last week, which might?integrate?Steam Box project.

Citing sources, Cult of Mac reports Apple is preparing a new TV set which?ll be released later this year and ?will come with an Apple-branded, Kinect-like video game console.?

The system will apparently rely on motion-based and touch controls, and will ship with a touch screen remote which?ll be bundled with the TV.

The website also builds up on rumors of Valve?s entry into the hardware industry, connecting the developer posting a job listing for an electronics engineer to join its hardware team, required to assist in creating ?whole new gaming experiences.? Valve also recently said that it?s exploring the field of wearable computing and augmented reality.

If the report is true, this isn?t the first time Apple has triedits hand at making video game consoles. The company had created something called the Pippin as early as 1995 by teaming up with Bandai. Pippin was a multimedia console based on the Macintosh OS which allowed users to access the Internet and play games. The system was a big flop, managing to sell a meagre 12,000 units before Bandai decided to pull the plug on it.

Apple is also rumoured to be working on a console style controller for iOS devices.

Best Buy details its 50 big box store shutdowns in the US, most will close by May 12th

We knew Best Buy planned to close 50 of its big box retail locations by the end of its 2013 fiscal year, and now (just days after Mike Mikan took the CEO-reigns from Brian Dunn) it's detailed all of the stores that'll be getting the boot. As it stands, two locations have already been shut down, with six others set to close before the year is out -- and the company hopes to clear out the remaining 42 before May 12th. Employees at most of the stores were informed of the news this weekend, and despite the impending closures, the company says it'll try to re-position them within the company or offer up severance packages. Past that, Best Buy is also reaching out to the customers of these stores, noting that they'll still have other nearby locations to choose from -- try-before-you-buy online shoppers rejoice. There's still no specific word about the 100 Best Buy Mobile stores it hopes to setup, but more information will be forthcoming later in the year. Hit up the press release after the break if you'd like to parse the full list of affected locations or find out more details about the planned closures.

Facebook Explains Why It?s Supporting Congress? CISPA Cybersecurity Bill

Screen shot 2012-04-13 at 4.56.05 PMFacebook today explained why it has taken a positive stance on the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, or "CISPA", bill currently under consideration in the United States Congress. The social networking company is one of a group of tech companies that have announced support for CISPA -- Microsoft, Oracle, Intel, IBM, and Symantec are also among its backers. In a post today on the official blog for Facebook's Washington D.C. office, the company's U.S. public policy VP Joel Kaplan wrote that Facebook is supporting CISPA in part because it would not ask Facebook to share any more of its own user data than is currently required.

Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie: Will They Last?

It's finally official: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are engaged.

A rep for long-time couple confirmed the news this afternoon, just a couple days after the actress was spotted with a Robert Procop-designed diamond ring on her finger.

But as the Twitterverse blows up, Jennifer Aniston drowns her sorrows in boxes of wine and we send our congratulations to Brangelina, we also can't help but wonder: will the couple last? Or will plans to walk down the aisle eventually cause one side to walk away? Each already has a divorce on his/her record, after all...

Google Wallet updated with improvements and enhancements across the board

Google Wallet

Google Wallet has seen another update, and this time Google has made all sorts of improvements and enhancements to the app. Per the change log in the Google Play store:

  • Prepaid Card top up forms more flexible
  • Citi Mastercard management improvements
  • UI improvements
  • Privacy enhancements
  • Bug fixes
  • Updated Terms of Service

The most interesting, on the surface anyway, would be the UI improvements. They must be very subtle, because we're not really seeing any. It's the same fluid and simple UI that has been there for a while, and while we're not complaining, we just don't see any improvements. We're pretty sure that some of this change log is just leftover from the last update. It's OK, Google. We all slip.

We can certainly get on board with improvements, though. Bug fixes are always welcome, as are privacy enhancements. Anything to keep our money safer is a good thing. You'll also be faced with the new terms when you update, and we suggest you read them carefully. There's nothing there you wouldn't expect, but it's always wise to stay informed.

All the ballyhoo aside, we expect the biggest thing behind this update are new privacy enhancements and bug fixes, and we're glad to see them. You'll find your update in the market, or you can hit the link after the break.

Thanks, Beezy!
